TEAM WANG design's whole new COOKIES – BE BALLOON Collection officially launched on December 24th, 2022, as an extension of the self-exploration quest throughout the past seasons of COOKIES.
In light of the core brand spirit "KNOW YOURSELF, MAKE YOUR OWN HISTORY", Jackson Wang, the designer and creative director of TEAM WANG design, draws inspiration from the balloon to express his understanding of individuality and creativity. Borrowing the metaphor of balloons rising toward the boundless sky, he hopes the public could stick to themselves, get rid of the burden of social babels, relax and brave the wind to fly beyond limits.
The co-founder and CEO of TEAM WANG design, Henry Cheung, further reveals the profound metaphor of the balloon. As we ascend and break through the thresholds of different life stages, we'll gain a more comprehensive and transparent vision that allows us no longer to drift with the crowd nor be affected by the surroundings, thus enabling us to explore the possibilities with a firm belief in ourselves.
TEAM WANG design COOKIES – BE BALLOON Collection is a new edition based on COOKIES' classics throughout past seasons, embodying the brand's aesthetics and imagination. Using the brand's iconic black color and minimalism, TEAM WANG design innovates the balloon elements to create dynamic items that will back you up as you ascend to new heights. The 13 new pieces of this collection include classic T-shirts and hoodies designed in a comfortable oversize silhouette with cutting techniques like splicing and dividing, all reinterpreted with sophisticated details. Furthermore, sweaters and functional pieces like knitted suits and fitted down jackets make an eye-catching debut while meeting the diversified needs in different scenarios.
The logo of TEAM WANG design was presented in a variety of ways for different items in the BE BALLOON collection, reflecting both the brand's signature aesthetic and its diligent pursuit of details. The MINI "TEAM WANG" mark is a fun embellishment, and the combination of the logo and the 3D balloon on the back adds diversity to the look. The new collection items continue using the bright silver "EYELET" element as a sign of the brand spirit - the double ring design is like a pair of eyes growing on the back, bringing a multi-dimensional view to the wearer. This design coincides with the ever-rising balloon element, which symbolizes the constant rise to gain a broader vision while echoing the brand's layering styling philosophy, offering limitless self-defined inspirations for the wearers.
In the previously released COOKIES - BE BALLOON campaign, TEAM WANG design uses the simple yet embracing color black, paired with the freely rising balloon, to present the dynamic image where the INVISIBLE MAN freely travels in the balloon universe through open and flowing visual effects. As the brand's signature image, the INVISIBLE MAN, dressed in the BE BALLOON collection, assembles around the balloons and leaps in the air. As they fly up and gradually away from the crowd, they are no longer confined by the boundaries of the space and gain a comprehensive view. The balloon flying at different heights represents the vision of different stages of life, which is also the idea conveyed by the brand; the life journey is like the rising of balloon, where we don't need to care about others' judgments or the social bias, as long as we stick to ourselves and keep rising, we can fly to a future full of possibilities.
