Based on the core brand spirit of “KNOW YOURSELF, MAKE YOUR OWN HISTORY,” brand designer and creative director, Jackson Wang, integrated the concept of “me, myself, and I” into the creation of THE ORIGINAL 1. The brand appeals to forgo the world’s judgments and stares, and hope everyone is able to and welcome a simple and genuine take on life, to be unapologetically “you.” TEAM WANG design co-founder and CEO, Henry Cheung, further revealed the layered metaphor of THE ORIGINAL 1 collection. The exploration of self is the ultimate journey in life, and THE ORIGINAL 1 projected its vision onto this topic - to advocate for a minimalist lifestyle, be true to yourself, focus on self-consciousness and self-awareness, go beyond boundaries, and focus on present.
As new creative materials and new products are released simultaneously, a new creative way to record the brand’s INVISIBLE MAN is introduced. This time, INVISIBLE MAN is gathered under the illumination of spotlights, which echoed the concepts of a previous party, called CREW NIGHT, the brand threw a while back: to gather individuals with achievements in their own fields, who share common values, and to create a new space for young people to openly share their passions and creativity.
THE ORIGINAL 1 collection continues to pay respect to TEAM WANG design’s classic and timeless aesthetic and design. The iconic black and minimalist designs are present throughout the entire collection, a total of 20 brand new items. In addition to the beloved t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, and other classic items, this collection also introduces athleisure wear, children’s clothing, etc. to accommodate different occasions and needs. On top of new designs, the brand also proposed unique and creative names for the new lines. The presentation of TEAM WANG design’s brand logo on different items in this new collection is consistent with the brand’s overall design, aesthetics, and fully reflects TEAM WANG design’s diligent pursuit of details and portrayal. The mini “TEAM WANG” logo adds a sprinkle of fun to the designs, and the bright silver EYELET, which represents the spirit of the brand, are two rings designed like a pair of eyes to the wearer’s back, signifying to be able to have keen insight of oneself. The entire collection is bestowed in classic black, representing the core of the brand’s spirit and signifying the purest and most simple ways of life. With the release of THE ORIGINAL 1 collection, TEAM WANG design opens up its official brand flagship store on Tmall, one of the largest e-commerce platforms globally.
