Halloween Horror Nights is nothing new by now. After all, it’s an annual occurrence that locals frequent.
However, it’s worth mentioning that this year features the first Chinese IP launched in Universal Studios, the Under The Castle Haunted House by Team Wang Design. It is the largest haunted house this year, which aims to provide a uniquely immersive horror journey.
HallyuSG’s correspondents Belinda Poh and Dayna Yam challenge themselves as they conquer the house (albeit with some screams and fright).
The Under the Castle house is located in the outdoor space in Waterworld.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by an unsettling shade of green lining the entrance. And that’s your cue to brace yourself for some horrific fun.
Well, you may be scared out of your wits. But the team behind the house makes it a point to incorporate some easter eggs into its design.
For instance, the house incorporated various elements from Jackson Wang’s Magic Man album (2022), through props and scare actors.
Overall, the haunted house was intricately designed, giving off an aesthetic of its own.
Though scares were not as intense relative to the other houses per se, the Under The Castle house does boast wider corridors and larger rooms.
There’s even a drawbridge you’d need to cross at the entrance, adding to the authenticity of your experience.
Visitors can also spot two adorable characters throughout the house: Pumpkie and Spookie. Keep these two characters in mind, as they will also star in Jackson Wang’s new comic book.
